A : As a Foreigner, You are eligible to apply for permanent residence status if you are a/an:

• Foreign Investors in Singapore
• Holder of S Pass, Employment Pass, Personalised Employment Pass, or Entre Pass
•  Students studying in Singapore
•  Spouse of a Singapore citizen or Singapore permanent resident (PR)
•  Unmarried child aged below 21 years old, born within the context of a legal marriage to, or have been legally adopted by, a Singapore citizen or PR
•  Aged parent of a Singapore citizen

A : Applicant’s Spouse and Unmarried child aged below 21 years old can be included together in SPR application. However, Male Dependents will be liable for Singapore National Services (to be enlisted in the military service) once they are granted Singapore PR. They are required to register for
National Services (NS) upon reaching 16.5 years old and will serve for 2 years when turning 18 years old. Following the completion of full time NS, They will become Operationally Ready National Servicemen (NSmen). Their obligation will end at the age of 50 years (for officers) or 40 years (for other ranks).

A: No. However, you may apply for Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) for your parents or Unmarried child aged above 21 years old after you obtain SPR.

YES:All Pass Holders such as Employment Pass and Personalised Employment Pass must have worked in Singapore for at least 6 months in order to be eligible to apply for SPR.

As for Entre Pass Holder and Overseas Networks and Expertise (ONE) Pass, there is no exact period to determine how long you should be present in Singapore as some applicants might have different criteria with others.

NO: You don’t have to be present in Singapore when you apply for SPR. A: Processing time varies for each application. A standard processing time for PR An application under Professional Skilled Migrant Scheme is 6 – 12 months while some applications may take a longer time to process.
The processing time for PR Applications under Foreign Investor Scheme normally will take longer than Professional Skilled Migrant Scheme. However, some applications may take a faster time to process. You may check your eligibility on Complimentary Residency Assessment

A: It depends. Every case is different and unique. As Singapore is not using point-based a system so the approval is completely up to the discretion of ICA (Immigration and Checkpoints Authority) Singapore. There are many factors to be considered by ICA to approve an applicant’s SPR. Apart from meeting basic criteria, the applicant’s background and a number of years living in Singapore could be some of contributing factors for the application to be
approved.

A: Overseas Networks and Expertise (ONE) Pass is the pass for top talent across all sectors to start, operate and work for multiple companies in Singapore at once. Application for ONE Pass begins on 1 January 2023.

Requirements:

•  Minimum monthly salary of S$30,000
•  Overseas candidates must play a leading role in a company with a market cap of more than
  US$500 million or annual revenue of more than US$200 million.

If the candidate does not meet the salary criteria, then:

Candidate must have outstanding achievements in the arts, sports, sciences, and academia such as international awards or medals.
Maximum Validity: 5 years and renewable
Family Benefit: Eligible to bring in spouses and dependents to Singapore. Spouses are also permitted to work in Singapore on a Letter of Consent
Additional Requirement: The ONE Pass holder needs to notify MOM annually of their professional activities

A: Employment Pass is the pass for foreign nationals to work in Singapore. Need to apply new pass when changing employers.

Requirements:

•  The monthly salary starts from S$5,000. It needs higher salary for older workers

Maximum Validity: 2 years for a new pass and 3 years for renewal. From 1 September 2023, the validity will be increased to 5 years for an experienced tech
professionals with skills in shortage with a monthly salary starting from S$10,500.

Family Benefit:

•  Eligible to bring in spouses and dependants to Singapore if earning at least S$6,000
• Eligible to bring in parents to Singapore if earning at least S$12,000

A: Personalised Employment Pass is the pass for foreign nationals to work in Singapore. This pass allows them to change employers without reapplying. They are allowed to stay in Singapore for up to 6 months to seek employment.
Requirements:

•  The monthly salary starts from S$18,000 for overseas candidates. For Existing EP holders,
  the monthly salary starts from S$12,000 to apply for this pass
•  From 1 September 2023, the Monthly salary starts from S$22,500 for all candidates

Maximum Validity: 3 years and not renewable. From 1 September 2023, the validity will be increased to 5 years for experienced tech professionals with skills in shortage. Family Benefit:

•  Eligible to bring in spouses and dependants to Singapore if earning at least S$6,000
•  Eligible to bring in parents to Singapore if earning at least S$12,000

A: Employment Pass is the pass for foreign nationals entrepreneurs, innovators, or investors to operate a business that is venture-backed or has innovative tech in Singapore
Requirements:

•  Have started or intend to start such a business
•  Meet any of the further specified criteria for being an entrepreneur, innovator or
  investor

Maximum Validity: 1 year for a new pass and first renewal. 2 years for subsequent renewals.
Family Benefit:

•  Eligible to bring in spouses and dependants to Singapore if earning at least S$6,000
• Eligible to bring in parents to Singapore if earning at least S$12,000
